I decided to Google my own name a few weeks ago. Most of what I found was expected, but one thing called my attention. I found my own profile at Runkeeper.com. It was a surprise because I had no intention of sharing that information with anyone except one friend. But there it was: my name, exercise times, distances, even the exact route in a map. I'm usually very aware of privacy issues and think before sharing, so I found this extremely annoying.

I immediately went and changed my name. I tried to change my photo but it didn't work. There is no button to delete my photo either. After many attempts I tried using Firefox. It allowed me to replace the photo in my profile, but not in their forums.

It came to my mind that if my profile was there, others' were too. I went to Google and restricted my search to their domain: google.com/search?q=site:runkeeper.com. Have a look at it yourself: over a million profiles waiting to be downloaded. Most of them with name, last name, city, sometimes weight, and often a very detailed map of where exactly this person was running or cycling. I would say most users do not know this information is there for everybody to see. I think there is more than one way this information can be abused. Maybe by health insurance companies or by someone wanting to enter your home. Just as an experiment, I searched in Google+ some of the names on that list. I felt tempted to write them a message and ask if they knew their details are online, but decided to write this post first.

There is a discussion in their forums about this issue. I made a copy here in case it's taken down. In comment #22 someone from support claims they can not do anything about Google indexing their page, which is not true. He even says we should contact Google about this, which is ridiculous.

I exit the building and start walking.

The white stuff changes many things. For example, it redefines
something I normally give for granted: the fact that the ground is a
safe place to walk on.

It also changes the way the world looks like. Sidewalks are gone. They
now blend with streets, roads, grass, sea and forests. It's all part
of the same thing, and I find it extremely beautiful. Things are now
black and white. Black for the trees, white for everything else.

Soft shapes without edges. A complete transformation of the landscape
in matter of days. A transformation that does not distinguish between
man-made or natural, nor about borders of any kind. A transformation
done by tiny particles, weak and insignificant on their own, but
powerful when collaborating together. Men fight these symmetric
weightless particles with noisy weightfull machines, in an attempt to
keep the black of the roads unchanged.

It's not the first time I realize all this.

What surprises me this time is the silence. I see cars passing by and
my brain tells me there is something missing. I see those cars, but
they make no sound.

I observe the red light turn green. Fifteen cars accelerate completely
silently and I must laugh. I can only hear the engines of those
passing right next to me. The sound immediately fades away. The tires,
which are usually the noisiest part of these vehicles, are now silent.
It feels like several layers of carpets had been laid on the asphalt,
and inside my ears.

The experience is like a gift for someone like me.

Then, suddenly, it comes to my mind. Many people live their lives this
way, not hearing what they see.

La mayor parte de la riqueza se concentra ahora en la parte superior de la escala social. Esto ocurre en los EEUU y la brecha se amplía cada año. Creo que se debe a la eficiencia y no a China. Hoy en día las mejores ideas pueden propagarse por el mundo de manera rápida y eficiente, y todos pueden encontrarlas y comprarlas de manera eficiente, lo que convierte a los propietarios de esas ideas en personas asquerosamente ricas y hace que las ideas que no son las mejores apenas puedan sobrevivir. No solo es rápida la transferencia de información, la riqueza también se transfiere rápida y eficientemente.

Imagina que en el futuro existe algo similar al teletransportador de Star Trek que nos permite servir comida recién cocinada a cualquier persona del mundo. La eficiencia de un dispositivo así probablemente acabaría con los restaurantes locales que no son los mejores. La eficiencia de esta cocina del futuro permitiría a un cocinero servir a millones de comensales cada día. Probablemente solo necesitaríamos unos pocos cocineros por cocina en todo el mundo. La razón por la que muchos cocineros aún tienen trabajo es por que el mundo aún no es tan eficiente. En otras industrias mucha gente ha perdido su trabajo debido a la invasión de la eficiencia en sus campos.

Cuando alguien es propietario de un medio de producción más eficiente puede eliminar un gran número de puestos de trabajo y obtener unos grandes beneficios con el dinero que ahorra. En otras palabras, no es tanto que los empleos estadounidenses estén yéndose al extranjero, sino que los propietarios de medios de producción eficientes se están embolsando el dinero que gastaban en la contratación de empleados.

Piensa en los periodistas, muchos están perdiendo sus empleos. Los periódicos están sobreviviendo a duras penas. En los viejos tiempos, por cada noticia había probablemente cientos de periodistas escribiendo sobre la misma historia para periódicos locales. Ahora, debido a la eficiencia de Internet y sus motores de búsqueda, sería suficiente que unos pocos periodistas escribieran el artículo para toda la nación. La gente sería capaz de encontrarlos. No hay motivo para que cientos de periódicos tengan que escribir y publicar sus propias versiones de la misma noticia. Visita Google News y observa las noticias sobre un tema. Verás aún cientos de versiones ligeramente diferentes de una misma noticia. Los periodistas que aún escriben esas noticias estarán en paro en breve.

Las empresas son cada vez más grandes (en términos de capitalización bursátil), más globales y más poderosas. Sin embargo son cada vez más pequeñas en cuanto a número de empleados porque han dominado el arte de la eficiencia. Es más barato y rápido producir bienes a escala mundial cuando el mismo producto es consumido por millones de personas en todo el mundo. En los viejos tiempos, cada tipo de producto, una silla por ejemplo, la fabricaban muchas personas de diferentes maneras y en diferentes lugares. Era ineficiente pero proporcionaba empleo a mucha gente. Ahora la misma silla de Ikea se puede vender en todo el mundo. No necesitamos a tanta gente diseñando y fabricando sillas. Lo mismo es cierto para otras cosas, por ejemplo los programas de ordenador, los teléfonos móviles, las hamburgesas de McDonald’s y los cafés de Starbucks. Debido a la eficiencia el mercado elimina rápidamente los productos inferiores y todos encuentran los productos superiores y acuden a ellos en masa. Por lo tanto, unos pocos ganan a lo grande, y el resto fracasa.

Este patrón, llamado “ley de potencias” o “regla 80-20” se encuentra en todas partes. El 20% de la población posee un 80% de la riqueza. El 20% de los sitios web generan el 80% del tráfico de Internet. El 20% de los artículos de tu sitio web se llevan las visitas del 80% de los lectores. Y así sucesivamente. La razón por la cual los desarrolladores de software corren a cada nuevo mercado (por ejemplo las aplicaciones de Facebook, las de iPhone, las de Android, etc.) es que al principio esta curva- es más plana. El 20% no se lleva el 80% del mercado porque el mercado aún no es tan eficiente. Todos tienen la oportunidad de lograr un éxito modesto. Pero incluso los mercados alcanzan la regla en menos tiempo.

Al ritmo al que estamos haciendo que todo sea más eficiente, en un futuro no muy lejano tendríamos máquinas que pueden producir todo lo que necesitamos. Supongamos que una de esas máquinas funciona como un horno microondas: le dices lo que quieres y te lo prepara. Las máquinas se encargan de todo, así que nosotros no necesitaríamos trabajar en absoluto. Entonces, pregunto: ¿Quién sería el dueño de esas máquinas? La respuesta más obvia podría ser: el gobierno. En otras palabras, todos compartimos la propiedad de esas máquinas. Pero eso sería puro comunismo, el sueño de Marx hecho realidad. El estado sería el propietario de todos los medios de producción, y estoy seguro de que no estás dispuesto a admitir que crees en el comunismo. En ese caso debemos dejar que propietarios particulares posean esas máquinas.

¿Pero qué significa en realidad? En última instancia habría una persona propietaria de todos los medios de producción. Eso es lo que sucedería si entendemos la eficiencia de forma lógica. Cualquier otro competidor menos eficiente sería eliminado por la eficiencia de las fuerzas del mercado. Pero aquí está el enigma: ¿Quién podrá comprar sus productos o servicios y con qué? Si la Warren Buffett del futuro es propietaria de todos los medios de producción, y si no necesita la ayuda de nadie, ¿cómo podrán ganar dinero los demás? Si no pueden ganar dinero, ¿cómo van a comprar sus productos o servicios? Él solo podría producir comida para billones de personas en todo el mundo, pero no tendría ningún incentivo para producir cosas ya que nadie se puede permitir comprar.

En realidad no estamos tan lejos de esta absurda situación. Incluso las grandes empresas sufren en la actualidad porque los consumidores americanos están arruinados. Y eso se debe a que las mismas empresas despidieron a esos consumidores. A través de la eficiencia eliminaron puestos de trabajo para aumentar los beneficios. Es irónico que al reducir la plantilla redujeran también el número de clientes. En realidad, la conclusión teórica descrita no podría suceder debido a que habría disturbios, motines y guerras mucho antes de llegar a ese punto. Por lo tanto, desde el punto de vista de la gente rica que posee los medios de producción, es una cuestión de cuánta gente (es decir, empleados / consumidores) pueden eliminar mediante la eficiencia antes de llegar a un punto de rendimientos decrecientes.

Cada vez está más claro que ya hemos llegado a ese punto. Sin embargo, el problema es que ninguna empresa se detendrá en su búsqueda de la eficiencia ya que todas quieren que sea otra la que empiece a devolver puestos de trabajo a los consumidores. No quieren ser la primera en hacer el sacrificio y empezar a hacer las cosas de forma ineficiente. La búsqueda de la eficiencia es una carrera de locos. Todos tenemos que participar en esta carrera de locos, de lo contrario seríamos incapaces de sobrevivir. Si los demás participan en la carrera, todos tenemos que hacerlo, o de lo contrario la eficiencia de las fuerzas del mercado nos elimina rápidamente. La única manera de pararlo es que el estado intervenga. Esa intervención debe estar coordinada globalmente. Un país que intente parar por su cuenta la carrera loca de la eficiencia perecerá rápidamente. Necesitamos que los gobiernos de todo el mundo intervengan en la economía global y hagan las cosas más ineficientes.

Hay muchas maneras de hacer las cosas más ineficientes. Una de mis fantasías consiste en la abolición de las empresas que cotizan en bolsa. Esto nunca va a suceder, pero déjadme jugar con la idea. Las empresas que cotizan en bolsa son máquinas de generar beneficios altamente eficientes. Sus directores y empleados siempre deben poner los beneficios por encima de todo. Si pusieran sus propios valores personales por encima de los beneficios serían rápidamente despedidos por los accionistas. Debido a que sus acciones se negocian de una manera tan eficiente, los propietarios de la empresa cambian cada milisegundo. Esto promueve los beneficios a corto plazo y la evasión de responsabilidades. Este tipo de empresas reciben presiones para seguir creciendo más y se hagan más grandes. Siempre son más dominantes porque tienen fácil acceso a financiación. A medida que crecen arrasan con las pequeñas empresas locales que no pueden competir con la eficiencia de la gran corporación. Aun así, a medida que pasan los años, contratan cada vez a menos gente porque su propia eficiencia interna aumenta.

Si se pudieran prohibir las empresas que cotizan en bolsa de todo el planeta, imagino que la curva de la ley de potencias sería más plana y daría más oportunidades a la gente de clases bajas, aunque el PIB disminuyera (el problema que se debe abordar primero es la gran desigualdad de salarios; podemos preocuparnos por el PIB más adelante.). En lugar de impuestos para los ricos, mi idea es hacer que sea más difícil (ineficiente) que alguien pueda dominar cualquier mercado. No proporcionar las herramientas de la eficiencia, por ejemplo la compra-venta de acciones en bolsa, que promueve la búsqueda del beneficio y la eficiencia a costa del bienestar social. Podríais decir que soy anti-empresa, pero las empresas no son personas. Si te tomas esto como algo personal tienes la idea equivocada de lo que es una “empresa”. Esto trata sobre un pacto social, sobre hacer concesiones para que nuestra sociedad en su conjunto sea mayoritariamente feliz.

Obviamente mi fantasía nunca se hará realidad. Es más probable que la economía se estanque durante mucho tiempo. Los ricos exprimirán a los pobres todo lo posible evitando llegar a los disturbios. Los EEUU ya están en ese punto. Todavía es posible hacer las cosas más eficientes, pero la economía no podría dar cabida a una mayor eficiencia, ya que las personas que están más abajo en la escala social llegarían a un sufrimiento intolerable, y la sociedad en su conjunto sería disfuncional. En este sentido, la economía es un juego de suma cero. Los ricos no pueden ser más ricos sin que los pobres padezcan más sufrimientos.

En Y Combinator hay un interesante debate sobre mi artículo. Quiero abordar algunos de los comentarios.

Varias personas han hecho comentarios sobre la destrucción creativa. A su juicio, los que han perdido su empleo ahora pueden aprender algo nuevo y aplicar su productividad en otros sectores. Estoy de acuerdo en que la destrucción creativa juega un papel importante en nuestras economías, pero mi argumento es que hemos llegado a un punto de la eficiencia en el que las personas puede causar una destrucción creativa demasiado grande. La destrucción es demasiado eficiente para que los humanos podamos ponernos al día. Tenemos una carrera loca de destrucción creativa en la que encontrar maneras creativas de destruir los empleos de los demás se ha convertido en el principal modo de supervivencia.

No hay suficiente espacio en el mercado para que quepan los mejores en todo, es imposible por definición. Si todos son los mejores en algo, obviamente no es una situación eficiente, ya que sería imposible estar informado sobre miles de millones de “los mejores” productos y servicios.

Piensa en el iPhone App market. Solo un pequeño porcentaje de los desarrolladores en la cima ganan dinero. En cierto sentido, los demás desarrolladores no tienen trabajo. Si tuvieran que usar su productividad en otros sectores se verían obligados a buscar encontrar un mercado diferente. Podrían probar con el Android market, pero allí solo un pequeño porcentaje gana dinero con sus aplicaciones. Nunca podría haber suficientes “markets” para que todos los desarrolladores pudieran estar en el porcentaje más alto.

Por otra parte, la eficiencia es el resultado de un mercado que en conjunto identifica los mejores productos e ideas y los recompensa de manera desproporcionada. Los seres humanos tenemos limitaciones físicas y biológicas, no podemos seguir aumentando la eficiencia como hacen los robots. No hay manera humana de ponerse al día al ritmo que aumenta la eficiencia del mercado. Para cuando hayamos aprendido una nueva habilidad ya habrá sido destruida creativamente por alguien. Es deshumanizador esperar que la gente pueda seguir aprendiendo nuevas habilidades con el fin de ponerse al día al ritmo del mercado. Creo que no es justo culpar a aquellos que no consiguieron adaptarse con suficiente rapidez.

Personalmente se me conoce como un hombre eficiente. Continuamente me adapto a las últimas tecnologías para hacer mi vida y negocios más eficientes. Pero cuando miro a mi alrededor veo a mucha gente decente que no está particularmente interesada en jugar a este juego de la eficiencia. Lucha por sobrevivir. Creo que son la mayoría. Se sienten involuntariamente obligados a participar en este juego de la eficiencia. Es como cenar en un restaurante donde los demás están devorando la comida tan rápido como pueden. Te sientes presionado para alcanzarlos. No puedes disfrutar de la comida y después sufres de una indigestión. No creo que aquellos de nosotros que somos buenos jugando a este juego de la eficiencia debamos culpar a otras personas decentes por no conseguir adaptarse y sobrevivir este juego.

[24/10/2011] Alguien me envío por correo su teoría sobre por qué tenemos tal disparidad en ingresos y riqueza. Esta persona piensa que algunas políticas públicas tales como la tasa de inflación son las principales culpables. Estoy de acuerdo en que las políticas públicas tienen mucho que ver con ello. Su argumento hizo que me diera cuenta de que la disparidad de ingresos y la falta de oportunidades de trabajo están relacionadas, pero son cuestiones diferentes. Podríamos tener una situación en la que la tasa de desempleo fuera baja, pero la disparidad de salarios alta, o viceversa.

Mi principal preocupación es la falta de oportunidades de trabajo. Creo que tenemos un problema estructural que no se resolverá por el desgaste de la actual recesión.

I remember discussing with my math and physics teacher. I was about sixteen years old. She argued that the attraction the Earth exerts on any bodies around it increases as we get closer to the center. My intuition was telling me that if gravity acceleration is caused by mass, the point of maximum gravity should be the surface of the planet, not the center. At the center of the earth we would be surrounded by mass, so nothing would be pulling us towards the center of the Earth anymore. I believe she probably had this formula in her head: F = G*m1*m2/r*r. That's Newton's law of universal gravitation. In that formula, as the distance between the two masses decreases, the force gets stronger. If the distance (r) would approach 0, the force (F) would increase towards infinite. This formula is useful if we consider the two masses (m1 and m2) to be points. But the Earth is not a point. Points have no inside and outside, but this planet does.

Somehow a few days ago, twenty years after that discussion, these ideas came back to me. So I went and asked Mr. Internet. It turns out we were both partially right. The gravity acceleration does not immediately decrease as we move towards the center of the Earth, as my intuition had told me. In fact, it first increases a little as we go down. There are at least two reasons. One, the effect of the planet rotation, which tries to throw us up into space, is stronger on the surface than down below. And two, density of the matter inside the planet is not always the same: it changes depending on the depth.

That means that as we start digging towards the center of the planet, the gravity acceleration initially increases, reaching the maximum at about half way through our trip to the center of the Earth. But after that it decreases down to zero, as I had suspected.

My teacher did not appreciate so much my ability to get the right answers without knowing or remembering all the theorems and rules. At least publicly she didn't, I don't know what she thought about it. In any case I believe it was an ability to be promoted, not something to get rid of. My feeling is that teachers wanted students who were able to memorize things, not understand them. That's why I find this video important: Changing Education Paradigms, why I enjoyed the book Hackers and Painters. And maybe one reason why I'm interested in the Khan Academy and recorded almost 100 episodes of Fun Programming.

The news rarely mention the positive aspects of the Internet, but there are hundreds! Yesterday I attended a BarCamp for the first time and I really enjoyed it. Even it is not strictly an Internet thing, it is often organized and announced through the Internet.

Since it was my first time I'm really not an expert on this, but for what I've seen, a BarCamp is a one or two day event where people meet, present and discuss ideas. BarCamps are a kind of unconference. According to Wikipedia, they are participant-driven meetings. In normal conferences there is a speaker and many listeners. But unconferences have many speakers who are also the listeners.

A few years ago there was an Android related BarCamp in Berlin. That was the first time I heard about this idea, but I did not attend. I must admit that one of the reasons was that I believed that a self organized meeting would have a low quality. But I was wrong.

Yesterday we were about 20 or 30 people. The program was decided in the morning, as people wrote on a whiteboard the time and title of their presentation. The event took place at the Futurice offices, which is a beautiful space. There were free drinks, including Club Mate :) There were a few technical presentations about mobile phone development and others about photography, music writing and the Internet. I also gave an improvised presentation about my Fun Programming videos.

I'm glad I participated.

I'm now going to tell my friends in Mallorca they should organize a BarCamp there =)

It's been a long time. More than 100 days since the last time I posted something to this blog. But my lack of writing was not the only change. I also got rid of my camera after 8 years, my sound recorder, my office in Berlin, my bank account and my cell phone contract. I sent four big boxes by post to Finland, where I live since three months ago. I wonder why I didn't post here... I've had a list of posts I wanted to write for quite a long time, but somehow I was lazy and usually micro-blogging. Writing takes time and gives back an increasing visit counter on a web site, but what else? :)

For two months now I have focused in creating videos. I started on August 1st. I had heard that if you do something every day for 21 days in a row it becomes a habit. So I decided to create one video each day of August. It's now October and I'm still motivated to continue. I feel good sharing what I've learnt with others. If my videos are useful for at least for one person, then it was already worth my effort. And it is an effort. I work on it several hours per day, and often think about the next episode when doing something else.

At the same time, I enjoy learning. I learn about speaking, recording and editing videos. I use my imagination thinking of ways to explain concepts and making exercises up. I learn about Processing and I practice having ideas in my head and converting them into programs. It brings back the fun that programming used to be when I was a kid.

It's nice to receive messages from people around the world once in a while saying that it's helping them. I got some e-mails from Aaron, an 8 year old kid from the States who is interested in programming :)

So now that creating videos has become quite automatic, it's time for a new challenge that starts tomorrow. I will do some adjustments in my life and stick with them during October. And they will bring positive changes :)

They are mostly used as two independent devices. I can access the files in my phone from my PC, sync contacts and music, but not much more.

When I'm in front of my computer I usually have my phone plugged into it. This phone can detect acceleration and has a hi-res touch screen. Why not use the phone to augment the computer?

It would be great if my laptop could read all phone sensors in real time. Then it could be used as a game controller. A mouse in one hand, and my phone in the other. I could tilt it, touch the screen and even see information about the game in my phone's display. Maybe it would be even possible to use the phone for aiming, using the phone camera to track objects in my computer's screen (registration points).

But as I don't play much, I'm more interested in productivity than in games. I'd like to use the phone's display as an external display for my laptop. For instance the Gimp's toolbar or a color selector could be shown in my phone, leaving more free pixels in my laptops display. As I'm working with my Wacom tablet on my right hand, I'd like to use my left hand tilting the phone to control color, opacity or brush width. If I'm creating music, I'd like to tilt the phone to control the filter frequency or the amount of effect in a certain audio track. If latency is low enough it would be a much better interface than a mouse and a keyboard, something that could complement other MIDI controllers.

I think there are some experiments in this direction, but if Google (or someone else) added the required APIs and libraries to Android it would become much easier to experiment in this field. Hopefully some developers and artists find this concept interesting enough to work on it.

Acabo de leer este artículo de Enrique Dans sobre la detención de la "supuesta" cúpula de Anonymous en España. En general estoy de acuerdo, pero el ejemplo de que un "ataque" DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) es "equivalente a la sentada en las escaleras de un local" no me convence del todo. Quizás el ejemplo del vídeo se acerca más a lo que es un ataque distribuido de denegación de servicio. Lo hacen en la conferencia del Chaos Communication Congress en Berlín y consiste en simplemente irse a comprar donuts. Todos. Al Dunkin Donuts. Y claro, se quedan sin donuts. Es distribuido por que lo realiza mucha gente. Cada uno va y compra uno o más donuts. Y es de denegación de servicio, por que la empresa ya no puede prestar el servicio que normalmente da, que consiste en vender donuts. Si te sientas en las escaleras estás impidiendo el paso a otros consumidores. Pero aquí no bloqueas, sino que coordinas a muchos para que hagan algo normal, consumir.

Siendo quisquilloso, no me gusta la palabra "ataque". Suena violenta. Aquí no hay armas. Lo único que se hace es poner de acuerdo a muchas personas para que hagan lo mismo, y hacer así que deje de funcionar. Puede ser una página web, o cualquier empresa o servicio en tu ciudad.

Llamarlo terrorismo y hablar de Al Qaeda me parece muy fuerte, ridículo, absurdo, manipulación. Una vez más, como sacado de 1984. Me parece que es miedo a que Internet democratice, repartiendo entre muchos el poder de unos pocos.

Veo esas imágenes y me pregunto que ocurriría si esa explosión solar apuntara hacia la Tierra. Si fuera más grande.

Y eso me recuerda a cuando otras razas eliminaron el planeta Tierra para construir una autopista espacial en "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". De alguna manera me hace gracia que todas esas cosas que nos parecen tan importantes desaparecían al instante. La cita de mañana, Greenpeace, los mp3, las guerras, los folios A4, Lulzsec, los bitcoins y el PSOE... Sin tiempo para despedirse. Como cuando se le da a un interruptor para apagar la luz. Bueno, no, porque puedes volver a encender la luz. Quizás como cuando pisas una hormiga. Ni ella ni tú os disteis cuenta de lo que pasó. Nadie se sintió culpable. Uno siguió su camino. El camino del otro terminó allí.

Y aunque pueda parecer lo contrario, no sería el fin del mundo. Solo sería el fin de este planeta. Si otros soles tienen tantos planetas como el nuestro, y hay 400.000 millones de soles en nuestra galaxia, y 125.000 millones de galaxias, significaría que después del accidente terráqueo quedarían unos 499.999.999.999.999.999.999.999 planetas más por ahí. No creo que la desaparición de planetas sea algo raro. Seguro que cada vez que alguien visita peliculasyonkis desaparece uno.

I've been playing with processing.js today. It's been months since the last time I did any programming. This is a new version of the Bezier Matrix found in my home page hamoid.com, but this time using no Flash. I only tested it on Chromium, hopefully it works on other browsers. El próximo fin de semana hay elecciones en España. En ocasiones anteriores creo que yo hubiera leído folletos, escuchado algún mitin, visto la tele y aún así no tendría claro a quien votar ni por qué: todos prometen mucho y hablan sin decir nada concreto. Esta vez tengo la sensación de que gracias a Internet puedo estar más informado a la hora de votar.

He encontrado la web nolesvotes.com que está llena de información y enlaces a noticias que me recuerdan lo que han estado haciendo los políticos durante los últimos años. Recomiendo estudiar la wiki de #nolesvotes. Hay casi 200 páginas donde hablan de diferentes temas relacionados con política, economía, consumismo y otros. Puedes estar de acuerdo o no, pero al menos dan a conocer temas importantes y te ayudan a estar más informado ante las próximas elecciones y quizás a vivir de manera más consciente.

Pensar "total, que puedo hacer yo?" parece más característico de una oveja que de un ser humano. A diferencia de otros animales, nosotros tenemos la capacidad de reunirnos, discutir, tomar decisiones y mejorar nuestras vidas. La información sobre cómo lograrlo es ahora más accesible que nunca, solo hay que querer.

People cover their skin for various reasons in different parts of the world. In Vietnam and other Asian countries many women do not want the sun to make their skin darker, so you see them dressed as in the picture even when it's 35ºC outside. It's funny when you think that people in Europe spend their money in tanning beds because white skin looks ugly, then people in Asia pay for creams that make their skin whiter. Come one people! There's nothing wrong on the way you look! :)
